City Series Market Bag Project

The Apolis Market Bag provides Bangladesh women with jobs and education for local schoolchildren. To further the advocacy of this manufacturing co-operative we created a custom bag program for retail partners. I established a custom bag design that would focus on a shop's unique neighborhood, to encourage shopping locally while creating global impact.

The Local + Global project has grown to include over 100 retail partners across 10 countries.

Each unique bag print highlights a neighborhood community and includes a custom leather patch that is exclusive to each retail partner.

Alongside the neighborhood bag design, I developed custom bag prints for a diverse range of clients including Anthropology, American Rag, Nordstrom, Clic Gallery, Journal Standard, Ron Herman, Merci, Farm Shop, Lemonade, Casamigos Tequila, and Montage Resorts.

I provided design of the titles for the film documenting the impact of the Market Bag program.

In 2011 there were 3,000 Market Bags manufactured and 1 retail partner. I was able to foster a program that grew to over 55,000 bags made and over 100 retail partners, while providing employment for 21 female artisans in Bangladesh.
